Clement Grenier Refuses To Sign New Lyon Contract
Following a lot of intrest from overseas, Lyon star Clement Grenier has refused to sign a contract extension with Les Gones. Grenier has only a year remaining on his contract at Stade de Gerland and it would be very unusual for Chairman Jean-Michel Aulas to not try to move him on for some money.
The transfer saga surrounding Grenier has been lengthy. Interest from Arsenal and Liverpool in England saw reports say that he was leaving the club, only for the player’s father to later refute those reports and say the the French midfielder was staying. Aulas then said that negotiations with Grenier for a new contract were ongoing, but any sort of new deal seems to have hit the skids now that Grenier has refused to re-up.
