Arsenal pens England’s largest kit deal with Puma
So long, Nike. Arsenal have shoved the clothing giants out the door after 20 years in favor of German manufacturers Puma and their mega-deal.
Puma has signed on for £30 million ($45.5 million) per year for 5 years, and could be worth up to £170 million ($263.2 million) over the course of the contract. This easily overtakes Liverpool’s new deal with Warrior (around £25 million/$38.7 million per year) for the richest in the Premier League.
Depending on how the funds are transferred and distributed, this could give manager Arsene Wenger much more spending power than he’s used to having. In recent years he’s often been criticized by fans and media for being stingy, but a new influx of kit money could certainly change things at the Emirates.
